Choosing a Drawing Video or a Sketch Export

Choose between animated and still output, understand MP4 and transparent WebM exports, and review the final file before using it in another editor.

Choose the result you actually need

A drawing video shows the image appearing over time. A sketch export is a still image. If you only need a drawing for a slide or document, choose still output rather than making a video to capture one frame.

Video duration controls the reveal, not the time spent waiting for the service to prepare the result. Render time depends on the input and processing steps. Output resolution is also separate from duration.

Match the format to your next tool

An ordinary opaque video is exported as MP4. Transparent video uses WebM because the selected output path needs an alpha-capable format. Do not expect an MP4 download to retain a transparent background.

Before building a project around transparency, import a small test into the editor you will use. Editor and platform support varies. An application may play a WebM while ignoring its alpha channel, so playback alone is not enough to verify compositing.

Check the complete file

Watch the ending, inspect thin lines and check the soundtrack. If you downloaded a still image, open that file directly rather than judging a small thumbnail. An image and a video poster are not interchangeable evidence of final quality.

A line-art result remains a raster image. Speedpaint does not export editable vector paths, separate drawing layers or a source project for your video editor.

Keep a usable original

Store the downloaded result alongside the input and any permissions you need. Avoid repeatedly exporting the same video through multiple applications when you can use the original download.

Use the resolution that suits your destination. A larger file is not automatically easier to share or more legible on a phone. Framing, source detail and the destination's own processing still affect the result you see.
